Chance to train with Richard Lucas who is a ex international event rider who in turn has trained international riders.

The course at Lower Tokenbury has a variety of confidence giving jumps ranging from 20cms logs to 110cms fences including ditches, banks, steps, water jump, skinnies, corners, combinations etc. We have everything to educate your horse and have used our course to train horses up to British Eventing Advanced level.

ECHPC have secured sole use of Bicton for a training day. Schedule to be finalised but will include 2* 1.5 hours riding ( cross country, jumping, flat including bio rider mechanics). Also 2* equine expert sessions.

You have to bring your own food drink and refreshments due to CV19. You will need to bring hay for your pony, stables can be used but must be left as you found them.

Back protectors must be worn no peaked hats on cross country

ONLINE DRESSAGE COMPETITION - ENTER BY 7TH JUNE

Class One:

PC Walk Trot Dressage Test 2013

For combinations not to have previously won a dressage competition. (Special rosette for all juniors entering)

Class Two:

PC Grassroots dressage test 2018

Class Three:

PC Novice Dressage Test 2020

Class Four:

PC Intermediate Dressage Test

Entry Free for members, each member to do no more than two tests. Results will be displayed on our website. Rosettes to 6^th Place. We will not use full dressage sheets, you will have comments sent via Whats App.

·Tests should take place in a 20X40 meters (or about 66 feet by 132 feet) area. This can be a grass field or sand school. (Homemade letters are acceptable). Judging will take account of variable conditions.

·The person filming must stand behind C (as far as it is possible). The rider enters the arena at the far end at A riding towards the camera, (i.e. the judge's viewpoint). Do not start filming until the rider enters at A, stop filming after the final halt.

·Tests must be filmed in one take. Please video in landscape.

·Please forward entries to Kate Jackson 07850 844308 on Whats App and include name of rider, age, name of pony and test being ridden.

1. Please wear smart clothing including gloves. Ponies should be well turned out.
2. Tests may be read. 
3. No martingales or non-permitted tack.

4.The judge’s decisions are final. Judging will take account of conditions/surfaces. 

5.Please follow the Government social distancing rules.

6.Tests can be downloaded from the Pony Club website.

AGM & PRESENTATION EVENING - 7TH FEBRUARY 2020

Our annual AGM & Presentation Evening will be held on Friday 7th February  at The Lord Elliot Hotel, Liskeard.

The aim of the evening is to celebrate the past year by giving out certificates, felts, trophies and cups for all your achievements over the past year.  It is a lovely way to meet other parents and a social environment for the children to let their hair down with their friends.

Please arrive for 7.00pm.  The buffet will be served from 7.30pm.  We will run a brief AGM with the main aim to entice some feedback from you all to help us prepare for the year ahead.  Presentations will start soon after, followed by a short report from Sarah. 

MONTAGE:  Keeping with tradition we will also be showing our montage of a "year in pictures" which is being put together by the lovely Sydney Bond.  Please can you send her photos and videos to:  sydneybond@outlook.com by the 17th January.  Please limit it to 2 pictures or 1 video and 1 picture only.  

The cost per ticket will remain the same as last year - £10 per adult and £5 per child/member.  Please book and pay for your child online.  This event is open to siblings, friends and family.  Any additional tickets will can also be booked and paid for on the website.  I have set up 2 additional events for extra Adults and extra Children.  Please book the required number of tickets and pay in the normal way. 

TROPHIES:  All trophies awarded last year need to be returned to a committee member no later than 17th January.

An excellent chance to gain great instruction and feedback for any level of dressage test.  Firstly, you will have a 25 minute warm up instructed by Helen running through techniques and technicalities of your chosen test to get you on point for your test with Clare.  You will then perform your test for Clare who will mark the test.  Clare will then run through the marking of the test and you get another chance to redo your test to try and improve your score based on the feedback from the first test.  

Overall instruction time is approximately 45 minutes.

Pre-entry only.  Times will be released on the 24^th December.

Entries close on the 22^nd December.

Plan of action - Start 6pm sharp with min 50-60cm can be assisted , then horse and hound for those who want to go, followed by midi 75-80cm, followed by 90cm single phase in all classes last few timed (details given to all riders on the night).

Be ready for the class you want to do and let us know on the evening which you want to ride in. Clear round aswell and food catered by the amazing Mollet Davey Cracking Catering - bbq burgers and sausages for all. If you wish to make a donation there will be a pot but this is a fun celebratory evening - a way of saying thank you for all your time, dedication and commitment. Dress code rally wear long sleeves and back protectors as normal jumping rally.

 Starting at 6pm with mini then Horse and Hound then midi, maxi

Show jumping - Midi, Mini and Maxi-  Evening BBQ for all the family. To get all involved we wish to run a horse and hound dog (to be led by a parent or parent to be led by dog!). Do come along and bring your families, grand parents all welcome to get us in the summer spirit!

This residential camp is aimed at club members aged 11 years + on 1st Jan 2018.

Pontispool will provide a great opportunity to ride at a venue with fantastic facilities including an extensive XC course available throughout our stay.  We will be taking 3 instructors who will ensure you learn and have plenty of fun, both on and off the ponies.

Riding groups will be kept small too ensure every child benefits from the experience.

Plentiful meals and refreshments will be provided by the onsite caterers.

Accommodation will be in small heated cabins with toilet and shower facilities nearby.

Evening activities will be arranged to keep everyone occupied.

Stables, hay and straw will be provided for your pony throughout your stay.

The instructors and at least 2 parent helpers will remain on site with the group during camp.

A non refundable deposit of £50 must be paid no later than 15th April 2018 to secure your place.

IF CAMP IS CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF NUMBERS THE DEPOSIT WILL BE REFUNDED

Mini / Intermediate Camp at Duchy College

Date: Wednesday 1st August 2018

Mini Camp 2 days - Weds 1st August and Thurs 2nd August (ponies and children go home at night) £60 for both days (£30 deposit non refundable) suitable for those on the lead rein or just off.

Intermediate Camp 2 nights / 3 days Weds 1st August - Friday 3rd August (ponies and children to stay at Duchy) cost £150 (£50 deposit non-refundable) suitable for those confident riding off the lead rein and jumping 40cm or more.

Duchy will provide a wonderful opportunity to both mini and intermediate members. The club have the exclusive use of all facilities (2 indoor schools, the outside arena, show jumps and some XC jumps) for the duration of the camp.

We will have instructors who will each take groups based on ability to ensure that members enjoy the best experience and learning in a fun environment.

Activities and unmounted lessons will also be provided to enhance the experience together with evening entertainment for those members staying on site. Accommodation will be in classrooms with shower and toilet facilities nearby. Evening activities will be led by some senior members with lots of fun and games and even our own ECPHC talent show!

Meals, snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the duration of camp with the exception of the first day when a packed lunch will be required. Meals will be prepared from a purpose built kitchen on site and members will enjoy the use of the canteen.

Helpers / supervisors will be on site every night throughout the duration of camp. Stables, water, shavings will also be provided throughout the stay. Members will just need to bring hay and hard feed. 

With such excellent facilities this represents really good value for money and we have the bonus of indoor schools if we encounter wet weather.

Please note: All ponies must have up to date vaccinations which will be checked upon arrival.

The competition will be run under Pony Club Tetrathlon rules 2018.

• The xc course will be ready for walking at 10am on Saturday.  Please could everyone park in the Lanhydrock car park and walk to the course.  The National Trust are being very strict about this and will not allow any vehicles to be parked in the field on the Saturday.  Lorries and trailers will be able to park in the field as normal on the Sunday.

• Classes 7 & 8– will be run over a 65cm 2ft course.  Most of the fences will be up to height.  Class may be assisted.

• The riding phase will be timed for classes 1 – 4  but not for classes 5 - 8.  The gate and slip rail will be timed for all classes according to tetrathlon rules.

• No muddy shoes to be worn in the Dragon Leisure centre.

• The judge’s decision will be final.

• Class 8 – buoyancy aids will be allowed, but there will be a penalty of 200 points.

DIRECTIONS TO DRAGON LEISURE CENTRE

A30 from Launceston – take the Bodmin turning off the A30 and then take the 1st left, sign posted A38.  At the T junction turn left and then 2nd exit off the roundabout. Go over the narrow bridge and at the next T junction turn left.  The Leisure Centre is on the right hand side at the next roundabout.

DIRECTION FROM DRAGON LEISURE CENTRE TO LANHYDROCK

Turn left out of the Dragon and then take the 1st right. Go back over the narrow bridge and take the 2nd exit off the roundabout. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit. The car park for walking the course on Saturday is about half a mile on the left.  Follow signs for Lanhydrock cark park.  On the Sunday please follow signs for ‘hunter trial’.

Mini / Intermediate Camp 2018 - Information

Date: Thursday 31st May 2018

Mini Camp 2 days - Weds 1st August and Thurs 2nd August (ponies and children go home at night) £60 for both days (£30 deposit non refundable) suitable for those on the lead rein or just off.

Intermediate Camp 2 nights / 3 days Weds 1st August - Friday 3rd August (ponies and children to stay at Duchy) cost £150 (£50 deposit non-refundable) suitable for those confident riding off the lead rein and jumping 40cm or more.

You can book in the tab below for each camp.

Duchy will provide a wonderful opportunity to both mini and intermediate members. The club have the exclusive use of all facilities (2 indoor schools, the outside arena, show jumps and some XC jumps) for the duration of the camp.

We will have instructors who will each take groups based on ability to ensure that members enjoy the best experience and learning in a fun environment.

Activities and unmounted lessons will also be provided to enhance the experience together with evening entertainment for those members staying on site. Accommodation will be in classrooms with shower and toilet facilities nearby. Evening activities will be led by some senior members with lots of fun and games and even our own ECPHC talent show!

Meals, snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the duration of camp with the exception of the first day when a packed lunch will be required. Meals will be prepared from a purpose built kitchen on site and members will enjoy the use of the canteen.

Helpers / supervisors will be on site every night throughout the duration of camp. Stables, water, shavings will also be provided throughout the stay. Members will just need to bring hay and hard feed. 

With such excellent facilities this represents really good value for money and we have the bonus of indoor schools if we encounter wet weather.

Please note: All ponies must have up to date vaccinations which will be checked upon arrival.
